Motivated for Greatness

I would like to start writing this article by thanking everyone who left a comment on part 1 of this series. I am glad that we are in this journey together. As the good book says ' Iron Sharpens Iron'. So without further ado I will jump right into the article of today.

An important aspect to consider in acquiring wealth is changing our beliefs. We need to be consciously aware of what our beliefs are about money. Many people think that desiring to make more money is not spiritual and therefore should not be pursued. A lot of people have conflict within themselves - they are afraid of being worldly if they pursue financial success. If you are one of those that have that conflict with themselves, I hope that you get something out of this article.

I found out that Jesus talked about money more than on any other subject except the kingdom. There are more than 2000 verses about money and possessions in the bible. It has also be revealed that 16 out of the 38 parables he told have got something to do with money and possessions (Muratori,J.L 2007, Rich Church Poor Church). Some people have misunderstood the verse: 1 Timothy 6:10 which says ‘...The love of money is the root of all evil’. Some actually think that money is evil. I would like to say a statement of comfort and say that money is not evil money is neutral. The love of money is the problem, when money becomes number 1 on your priorities list then you are in trouble. Its interesting that Jesus said that Seek ye first the Kingdom of God and his righteousness and ALL these things will be added unto you. Jesus did not despise material things he just gave us the secret, Kingdom first and THINGS will be added unto you. If he did not want us to have things he would have left out the part of things being added. We are commanded to love the lord our God with all our hearts, with all our soul and with all of our strength and then to love others as ourselves. In Deuteronomy 8:18 it reads '...it is he who gives you the ability to obtain wealth'.

Money is a tool that can be used to better the lives of yourself and others. I don't know about you but I would feel more spiritual writing a big cheque to my favourite Church or Charity. To know that I am making a positive contribution in the community and using the power that money has for good. Financial freedom gives us that edge to do the things that matter the most. Wealth is not the amount of money one gathers but a mindset of abundance. You can have a billion dollars and not be wealthy - real wealth comes from having gratitude and embracing the higher values of life.

I have decided to focus on beliefs in this particular article because for us to be motivated to take action we need to have a set of beliefs that will empower us to carry through. Having a double mind brings instability in our journey. So creating a strong foundation is essential. On your road to wealth, have gratitude in your heart each day; be thankful for what you have. Do not focus on what you don't have, rather visualise what you want to have.

Hope I have managed to give some insight and please feel free to leave comments, questions and opinions. Until next time folks its bye for now!
